Sunday morning in Stanmer Park

Stanmer Park, nestling to the North of Brighton next to the Sussex University campus, sits in the South Downs National Park. It gets a bit more human attention than most of the rest of the South Downs, but it's not manicured. I think of it as Brighton's Hampstead Heath.

There are vast open spaces but on a breezy bright but cool Spring day, still recovering from a bout of flu, the woods take the edge off the breeze while still allowing the sun to add some extra warmth.

We were not expecting to find a rusting burned out abandoned car

So many man made shelters

  A lot of Bushcraft being practiced in these parts!

And this time of year an awful lot of bluebells.
